Stutzman Refuse Disposal is the leading provider of solid waste removal services in Reno and Rice counties. We provide solid waste and recycling collection, removal & disposal services to residential & commercial customers, as well as industrial and construction businesses. We strive to provide excellent service and are always dedicated to putting our customers first.
In 1957, Stutzman Refuse Disposal was created by Perry L. Stutzman and his wife Silvia. He was one man with one truck serving a small commercial route in Hutchinson. Perry and his sons, John and Darrell, grew the company to what it is today. Currently, Stutzman Refuse Disposal is located in South Hutchinson and employs local people with an average of 15 years of service to the communities we serve.
Although we are now nationally owned by Waste Connections, we continue to be locally operated. We are proud to serve our communities and hope to continue to watch them grow and succeed. Our focus is to aid in the sustainability of Reno and Rice Counties.
In the mid-90's we began the blue bag recycling program throughout the city of Hutchinson. In 2008, we introduced one of our proudest advancements; we constructed and house the largest single stream recycling plant in Central Kansas. Stutzman Refuse Disposal processes roughly 2000 tons per month through our single stream recycling facility, keeping it out of our local landfill. We also process recycling material from Wichita and surrounding areas, EI Dorado, Hays and several other cities. Stutzman Refuse Disposal is the only single stream recycling plant in Kansas to accept and process glass on site. We grind the glass down to a sand-like form and haul it to Johns Manville in McPherson, Kansas.
We are a proud member of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber and we respectfully contribute and support many local churches, charities, organizations and area schools.
